• Level up your real-time VFX fundamentals with senior VFX artist Tobias Ahlgren Cederlöf as he breaks down the foundations of making great effects for games — while also analyzing what can make game FX not-so-great for comparison. This workshop offers a great introduction of the key concepts that aspiring VFX artists should follow, while also proving to be a helpful refresher and source of inspiration for experienced artists.
• Using nothing but basic elements including sprites, meshes, and animated materials, Tobias creates a multi-stage anime-inspired effect while focusing on the fundamental animation principles coined by animators at Walt Disney Studios many years ago. By completing this workshop, artists will have learned what goes into making great effects at the very core, without needing fancy tech or complicated pipelines.

• Design a near-future racing machine in this conceptual vehicle design workshop by veteran 3D artist and concept designer, Chris Beatty. Over the course of 8 hours, Chris guides artists through his entire design process, which he has honed over two decades of experience working in the industry designing high-profile concepts for motorsports such as for the world-famous Indy 500.
• Chris shares his extensive knowledge, skills, and techniques with artists of all levels who are looking to master a practical “form follows function” creative process. Grounded in real-world engineering considerations, you'll learn how to style a race vehicle with a touch of science-fiction for added artistic license.
• This workshop uses Blender as the primary production tool. Chris demonstrates his Blender modeling techniques to sculpt the vehicle's form, showing how to maintain maximum creative freedom throughout the process. He also details how to extend the commitment point as far as possible before reaching the final modeling and rendering stage. The creative process is also complemented by Adobe Creative Cloud’s Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
• By completing this workshop, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of how to create vehicle concepts that balance function and artistic flair, leading to greater believability in the final results. These principles can be applied to any vehicle genre, whether a real-world race car or your next spaceship project. You should emerge from this workshop feeling accomplished and knowledgeable in the art of vehicle design.

• The structure for this fly-on-the-wall workshop is a little different than my typical courses. This experience is about watching the real-world creative process in action.
• Day 1: I will introduce each of our photographers, and they will share their fine art concept in a sketch. Then our cameras will follow them as they have the run of my studio to create their fine art portrait, with me helping as their assistant.
• Day 2: We’ll discuss what we learned, work on retouching in Photoshop, and print their images for a final dramatic reveal.
• Join me as we watch each of these stories unfold one-by-one from concept to framed prints.

In this course we'll continue to learn about using Mecanim for rigged characters. This is the bread and butter for Mecanim and in this course we'll go over the process of using a humanoid rig along with a generic rig. Things you'll learn in this course include:

• Using two different types of rigs and how to set them up within Unity
• Controlling a character using a C# script
• Using blend trees to blend between different animations
• Adding masks to control body part specific animations
• Using Inverse Kinematics to track objects with body parts

In this lesson, we'll dive into the world of multiplayer for Unity. We'll be using Unity's built-in networking components and go over how we can create a simple party game known as Hungry Hungry Monsters for both online and local multiplayer. This is an intermediate course and will focus on the multiplayer aspects of what you need to build your own. In this course you'll learn how to:

• Build an offline game scene
• Join and Host games locally and online
• Build Network Characters that are synced across the network
• Update a UI system for displaying points and character icons
• Displaying a win or lose state for each player when the game is over
• Building a custom network UI HUD that will act as our main menu

• Using the dopesheet and curves for creating keyframe animations
• Utilizing Animation Events with a C# script
• Adding Animation states using an Animator Controller
• Using Transitions and parameters to move from one animation state to another
• Simple examples of using inputs within a C# script to control transitions

• Use the profiler to check for performance bottlenecks

• Adding external tools like Android Studio and the Java Development Kit
