Since I was a kid, I've always wanted to live by painting. However, I went to work because I thought it would be difficult in reality. As I got more information, I learned that living as a cover writer and illustrator for a web novel isn't just a long way off. I worked on my portfolio while commuting slowly, and now I'm thankfully living as a cover illustrator! I started the class because I wanted to help people not wander like me.

It gives students the object drawing skills needed to later excel at compositional techniques used by contemporary Illustrators, entertainment artists, and landscape artists. Students learn drawing methods that allow for differences in style, that cover a variety of objects and allow students to draw anything they may encounter in reference photography or out in the world.

Will Weston – Mad Science (Summer 2021)

http://drawingamerica.com/courses/will-weston-mad-science-summer-2021/

This drawing workshop uses old submarine interiors, steam cars, tanks, pre WW1 flying machines, and 19th century dental and medical equipment as references allowing drawing students to portray character-filled man-made lab equipment, creepy lab furniture, and environments. Students learn to draw everything using cylinders (pipes & pipe fittings), balls, boxes, wire, and ropes, all exaggerated for clarity and expression. Students then scale and design a cutaway for a Mad Scientists laboratory allowing for staging and potential layouts.

Marco Bucci – Digital Painting 3

Marco Bucci – Digital Painting 3 English | 5hr 47m | Video: 1080p https://marcobucciartstore.com/products/digital-painting-3 One of the hardest questions a painter has to answer is: "How do you know when the painting is finished?" This is particularly puzzling when you're painting from imagination, and do not have references to help you determine when the painting is complete.

Marco Bucci – Digital Painting 2 - Painting Spontaneously Toward A Defined Goal
Marco Bucci – Digital Painting 2 - Painting Spontaneously Toward A Defined Goal English | 7+ hrs | Video: 720p Working as a commercial illustrator often requires a piece to pass through several stages of visual development before beginning the final art. This introduces a number of challenges to the artist: how do you keep the final painting as spontaneous and free as your sketches? How do you keep the process fresh and fun as you work? How do you maintain enthusiasm through the hours ahead? How do you maintain a positive, yet self-critical mindset as the idea develops? In Digital Painting II, Marco shows you his approach for creating an illustration from conception through to a final piece. He'll take an initial idea through visual development stages such as a color rough, compositional thumbnails, and character design, before starting the final digital illustration. Along the way, you'll see how each stage motivates the next, and how it all pays off in the final illustration.

Marco Bucci – Digital Painting 1: A Guided Tour Through The Creative Process
Marco Bucci – Digital Painting 1: A Guided Tour Through The Creative Process English | 3hr 49m | Video: 720p   Problem solving is a critical skill in art. The creative process is replete with unpredictable twists and turns, and it is often difficult to reverse engineer an artist's process when you only get to see the finished work. In this class, Marco takes you by the hand and guides you, from start to finish, through his process of painting an improvised, yet cohesive fantasy environment. Along the way he talks in depth about how the foundations of art serve as touchstones upon which to build, and how to tune your mindset to the task of discovering a new idea. Marco also takes an aside to demonstrate his Photoshop brushes as well as his methods of using them to mimic the look and feel of traditional media.

Apply to higher-level design positions, enhance your portfolio, and impress your teammates and clients.
If you're reading this, chances are, you're in the same position I found myself in during the early stages of my career – a bit lost, uncertain, overwhelmed, and confused.  The world of UI design might seem unclear and overly complex. You're not alone in feeling this way! Understanding UI design can feel like trying to learn a new language.  There are so many different ideas, rules, and tools to learn. It can be hard to know where to start. The advice you can find online might seem helpful at first, but often it's not very practical or easy to use.  More often than not, you’re left stuck in theory, lacking hands-on, effective UI design strategies. It's one thing to see a well-designed interface and recognize that it looks good. But it's a completely different challenge to make one yourself.   Moreover, there are numerous UI design courses on different topics and levels, and you don't know which would work best for you.  It’s almost as being tasked with painting a masterpiece without ever having held a brush. The process can be frustrating, disheartening, and you might feel like giving up.  You’re here because you’re seeking a solution. You want to learn how to overcome this common problem. You want to learn how to turn your confusion into understanding, and your frustration into progress.  The solution, I assure you, is not as elusive as it seems.   The secret to becoming a proficient master of UI design is not based on innate sense of creativity or talent. It relies heavily on leveraging proven tactics and adhering to established best practices.

CGCookie - Normal Map Modeling for Games
CGCookie - Normal Map Modeling for Games
https://cgcookie.com/courses/normal-map-modeling-for-games
The answer is both! The big difference between modeling with the goal of a blender animation render or 3d printing with blender or modeling for games, is the amount of geometry that you can use. Games need to run in real time at 60 frames per second at minimum, so we need game models to be as efficient as possible so that we can instance many of them in one scene, use physics, and do all of the other cool things that modern games do. But we also want our games to look gorgeous! ...and that usually entails adding a lot of detail. So the central problem that every game artist needs to solve is finding the right balance between quality and performance, so again, knowing how to create 3d models with efficiency is key. The trick that all modern games use to get more detail out of less geometry is normal mapping.

CGCookie - Modeling Weapons for a First Person Shooter
https://cgcookie.com/courses/modeling-weapons-for-a-first-person-shooter
Modeling weapons is awesome not just because they look cool, but because in an FPS each gun is its own character. They become an extension of the player reaching into your game, so it’s super important that they have personality, look good from all the correct angles, and are completely functional.
