  • The purpose of this training is to take a base human model from Daz and then build a detailed character in Houdini. We will add clothing using vellum , model jewelry and build a full hairstyle and eyebrows in Houdini. In the end we will make shaders using materialX and light and render the model in Solaris using Karma XPU.

  • Welcome to procedural modeling in Houdini. The idea behind this training was to take a character model and then generate an armour or a second skin on top of it completely procedurally, and also have the armour or skin design change every frame to give you multiple variations. Over the course of the training we shall cover a variety of topics such as, pattern generation using voronoi fracturing and clustering. Using VDB for adding details to the voronoi pieces. Generating wires using a variety of groups and find shortest path and other methods. We’ll also take a simple look at how to bake the details down to a lowres mesh using the mantra baking tools and substance painter.

 Rohan Dalvi - Tiny Robot Project - Houdini to Unreal
Hello everyone and this is the tiny robot project. The idea behind this training was to go through the entire process of making a fully rigged mechanical model that was ready for animation in unreal engine.
 In this project , we will model the robot in Houdini, then unwrap it, add bones and do basic bone capture so the model can be exported to unreal. Then we take a small detour to substance painter so we can make the shader for the robot. Then we import the model into unreal and rig it using control rig to make it ready for animation and finally we setup the shader and add lights for final rendering.
total duration - 5 hours 20 minutes

Training level - intermediate ( basic working knowledge of houdini and unreal is required)
