CGCookie - Building Modular Game Assets
Portalethium is a sci-fi game that the CG Cookie crew developed for the purpose of A) playing and B) learning. It's a tower defense game that was built from the ground up using Blender for 3D asset creation and Unity for game development. We decided that a modular environment was the best way to approach building the game level. Modularity works like Lego's, where pre-built pieces are interchangeable and extensible. This allows for a flexible level-design process that's perfect for iteration. It's also much easier to build a collection of interchangeable pieces than it is to build and texture an entire, un-modular level.

Peter Coulson Photography - In The Garden With Stefania
Full sun in the middle of the day is Peter’s absolute favourite time to shoot. We are in the middle of Australian summer at caught up with the incredible Stefania to create some Helmut Newton inspired images shot just in her backyard! Peter Coulson Photography - Beach Shoot With RaRa
With no reflectors or flashes, in this video Peter will show you why shooting with full sun in the middle of the day is his favourite time to shoot. The Wedding School - Wedding Photography Workflow
Susan’s wedding workflow is what keeps her organized, keeps all of her deliverables on time, keeps her customer service in top form, and keeps her many wedding clients per year happy.
It’s so easy to get lost in the minute details of a workflow, spending too much time on things that should run more smoothly, or spending not enough time on details that need more attention. Understanding how to run an efficient workflow is a crucial part of running a profitable wedding photography studio. Susan tweaks her workflow on a yearly basis, adding small things that help the client experience, while tightening up on other things that should be running with more efficiency!

At The Wedding School’s LIVE Pricing for Profit summit at WHCC, Susan Stripling taught an hour-long class on Shooting for the Album. Many wedding photographers struggle when documenting a wedding day and translating that coverage into an album design for their clients. Should you be thinking about the album layout while you’re shooting, working from a “shot list” to ensure you fill all the template slots in your album design? Should you photograph the wedding without considering the album design at all, and decide on the layout later? Is there even a right decision? And what about album aesthetic? Do you like negative space, busy album designs, collages, or a more fine art approach? Where do you even begin? By the end of this class, Susan Stripling will have laid out all actionable steps so that you can incorporate album design easily into your wedding photography workflow!
