This Guy Edits - Editing for Maximum Impact
Here's a peek at what I do regularly when I critique editing. In this session, I meet with four aspiring editors, and together, we review their scene work.
Branded/Corporate Editing
Narrative/Feature Film Editing
These feedback sessions are a regular feature in the Go-To Editor course, but this particular session is especially valuable as it applies universally. You don't need to have seen the scenes beforehand, as I show them to the students during the session first, then ask them to give feedback, and finally, I offer up my own.

This Guy Edits - Bootcamp: Editing Job Application Strategies
This coaching session should be extremely valuable to anyone who is applying for an editing job or any other job in the film industry. In this Bootcamp , I give aspiring editors feedback on their job application strategies. For context: Students in the Go-To Editor course have the chance to apply for a real job with a director who has an edit-ready film. Round 1 consists of an application that includes a top sheet (two questions they need to answer about why they want this job and what they've learned that might be helpful for the job), showing two scenes they cut in the course, and additional outside work/reel/resume. Most people never see or get feedback on their applications, so they don't know what actually stopped them from taking the next step in the interview process (e.g., getting a meeting).

I'm bringing you another scene from one of my favorite films of the year, "Anatomy of a Fall." This particular scene showcases how the director decided to let a shot unfold in the moment, discovering its power while filming and directing the cameraman to keep searching for more angles.
The sequence ultimately made it into the final film in its entirety.

Color Grading: Introduction with a Pro Colorist
It's for anyone getting started in color grading or anyone wanting to improve their skills in manipulating an image and articulating on a technical level what was done. (an essential skill in the real world)

This Guy Edits - ROUGH CUT: Mad Max vs. Transformers - Which Movie Is Faster?
If you had to guess, which movie is cut faster, shows more action, and creates more stress while watching—would you pick Mad Max or Transformers?
Well, find out if you're right and possibly be surprised by the cuts per minute ratio of both films.
Happy editing :)

- There is a lot of talk about it being some sort of musical. Not everyone is on board with that idea and think this will leave a stain on the franchise. I take a look at the trailer and compare it to La La Land, which had to satisfy a similar task: preparing an audience to be open to watching a musical.
