Akhand Odia Font Family

Akhand Odia is a family of 8 compact mono-linear typefaces. The letterforms are dynamic; typically round shapes appear more compact, as their verticals have been flattened. This ‘straightening out’ gives text set in the typefaces a streamlined look. Indeed, Akhand Odia is designed according to a modular system. All shapes bear a strong commonality to each other, without becoming repetitive. The ligatures are characteristic of the signage and architecture around Sarno, where the Citarella family originates. The sweeping arcs, broad counters, and clean swashes allow for the architectural design to be imbued with the warmth and humanity of its namesake.

I got the idea to develop this font while browsing a series to watch, and I saw this sans serif font with flourish decoration as a title, I couldn't stop thinking about it, because I am into all that vintage thingy and I decided to search if there is a font like that, but I couldn't find anything like that. So I decide to develop a font with that style, a modern sans serif font with a vintage touch, with giving the user the freedom to create the composition.

A very glitzy Blitz! I always wanted to design a typeface that was top heavy, but I never knew how not to make it look like Antique Olive, until recently -- I had an idea. My new family is very readable despite it beeing top heavy, thin on the low end and thick on the upper end. The font gets a special shine because of this effect. And it stays readable despite its special design.
