In this video series, I share my process in how I create a photo real illustration based off of a photo reference. This is an exercise that strengthens your ability to create depth and realism in other projects. I like to use the analogy that it is very much like a musician prating scales to be able to perform better when playing actual songs. Or, an athlete training and doing conditioning exercises to compete. My experience is that when I do these photo realism exercises, it strengthens my ability to create my own images form the mind, as I retain a lot of what I observe in real images.
