Peter Coulson Photography - Tiziana
Peter Coulson Photography - Tiziana
https://inspire.peter-coulson.com.au/workshops/photoshoots/tiziana
Tiziana is a Belgian model who Peter has worked with 4 times in the past but the last time they shot together was in 2018. We finally were able to align our schedules and catch up with her on our recent Europe trip for a shoot at our Airbnb just using natural light, and with Tiziana’s own awesome styling. Tiziana mostly speaks French so communication between her and Peter can be challenging at times but the two love working together and it is always magic.

Peter Coulson Photography - Training A Model
Peter Coulson Photography - Training A Model
https://inspire.peter-coulson.com.au/workshops/photoshoots/tilt-shift-with-evelyn
The awesome Evelyn Sommer recently came down to Melbourne and contacted us for a shoot with Peter. As Evelyn is a travelling model, we only had limited time before she had to catch a train to her next destination, so Peter built a quick set with 4 shooting areas so he could smash out multiple looks in no time at all – something he does for his commercial clients all the time. And then he also decided he wanted to make his digital camera look more like film, so he bought out a tilt shift to get a surreal effect. This tutorial is more fly-on-the-wall, and we hope you enjoy watching these two create some stunning images together!

MixingLight - Custom ACES SDR to HDR Part 3 – Dolby Vision Trims
https://mixinglight.com/color-grading-tutorials/sdr-to-hdr-part-3-dolby-vision/
One of the most common misunderstandings about HDR and Dolby Vision is that Dolby Vision is a format you grade in. It isn’t! A Dolby Vision master starts with an HDR grade in PQ – and combines it with dynamic shot by shot metadata about the image content (and creative trims from the colorist) – to map that PQ image to the wide variety of consumer HDR displays at the best possible accuracy.

MixingLight - An Introduction to Texture Management (using DaVinci Resolve)
https://mixinglight.com/color-grading-tutorials/texture-management-part-1/

  • Have you ever heard colorists talk about texture? Or texture management? Maybe they were talking about it as it relates to beauty work? Or maybe in relation to film print emulation? But do you have a clear, well-defined understanding of the term ‘texture management’?
  • How do we define textures in video?
  • What are the goals of texture manipulation?
  • What does texture management actually do to our images at the pixel level when we soften or (particularly) sharpen them?
  • Finally, can you talk and think about texture management with precision such that you can explain it to your clients?
