Neon NBL is the faithful digital redesign of the original geometric monocase sans designed by Nebiolo in 1933. The redesign follows the proportions of the 1930s design, with varying widths for each type size, and includes the shaded titling version Ombra. Neon NBL is a geometrical monocase sans working at its best for headlines, posters and logos. It is the faithful digital redesign of the typeface designed by Giulio Da Milano, released by Nebiolo in 1936. The original face had different proportions with varying widths for each type size, ranging from extra narrow (72 pt) to wide (6 pt) and also featured a shaded titling version called Ombra.

Compared to the first 2020 release, Neon NBL comes now in a coordinated range of weights (Thin to Bold) and proportions (UltraCondensed to Wide) that not just fully covers, but actually expands the original type family, taking its key design features full circle. The new range of styles provides an extended, flexible system ranging in weight from light to bold, and also includes Ombra. Each font contains over 700 glyphs, carefully hand kerned for optimal readability.

Thanks to its wide range of styles and weights, Neon NBL can work well with small text settings too. Its geometrical modular construction is ‘softened’ by subtle optical adjustments and details that are especially visible in stem junctions and terminals. The character set has been expanded to include superior and inferior sets (letters, figures, punctuation, basic mathematical symbols), fractions, tabular figures, discretionary ligatures, diacritics for all European languages, and an alternate (flat) accent set.
