Makeup was inspired by baroque typography with its accentuated play of irregular axes and important contrasts, admiring the work of dutch punch makers like Reinhard Voskens and Christoffel Van Dijck. Therefore this typefaces has contrast in the thick and thin strokes, Roman serifs and humanistic axis.

In this typeface we weren’t looking for a strict baroque revival, but rather a new look with the humanistic characteristics of handwriting with a brush as a differential.

Makeup comes in four styles to cover as much design needs as possible, with several OpenType features such as: ligatures, swashes, true fractions, old style numerals and stylistic sets.
