Associate Sans Mono is part of FontStore’s larger ‘Associate’ type system. The letterforms in both Associate Sans Mono and its ‘parent,’ Associate Sans, all have a strong ‘American gothic’ look. That genre of typefaces has been popular since the early 20th-century, especially for designing publications and corporate identities. Monospaced fonts are great for lots of other applications, too – for instance if you want to mimic typewritten text, or computer code. The Associate Sans Mono letters are generally monolinear, in addition to being monospaced. Each of the family’s five weights – from ExtraLight through Bold – has a companion italic font available. These italic fonts are ‘obliques;’ they differentiate texts set in them by their slant.
