Pieter van Rosmalen may be best known for his versatile text faces like the Nitti series. Yet there are two souls, thankfully, dwelling in his chest. His fascination for type design began with pixels and modular display fonts — a genre that still excites him even though progress has long rendered bitmap fonts technically unnecessary.

German type designer Felix Braden created this sans FontFont in 2012. Take Five Font Family

"Take Five" is a very jazzy typeface. It is more Swing than Bebop but it also evokes memories of the Cool Jazz era. Take Five can be used for jazzy covers or childrens birthdays as well as jumble sales leaflets.

Orgovan Font Family

The basis of inspiration for the Orgovan family was the Brush stroke, a sample font designed for freehand writing using a flat brush, published at the beginning of the sixties in a handbook for Czechoslovak typography artists and arrangers. Thanks to many adjustments to the construction of the glyphs and more open letterforms, the font has good legibility even at small sizes, making it suitable for demanding typographic applications. The Rounded style is a variation of the basic theme, offering a wide range of further applications.

Certo Sans Font Family

Certo and Certo Sans were built out of a mixture of simply geometry and severe expressiveness, particularly visible in the angular cuts of the stroke connections.

Botanika Font Family

The motivation behind the Botanika family was the desire to create a text version of the Magion font. Although the glyphs were originally drawn using the same proportions, they were subsequently adjusted in order to improve legibility.

Bream Font Family

This is the display version of Librum. Librum means “book” in Latin, which I thought was appropriate. Bream is Latin for proclaim—appropriate for display work.

Its inspiration – particularly its weight and width proportions – can be traced to the Liberta typeface from the TypoArt type foundry in former Eastern Germany. After a careful study of the model, the design of Dederon branched off into its own direction, finding its distinctive voice and becoming a wholly original type family.
