Using wide lenses for landscape photography might seem counterintuitive to some. After all, a wide angle lens makes everything look smaller, so why would you want to make the gorgeous scenery you are photographing look less significant? Going wide, however, is the key to making powerful near-far landscape compositions that invite the viewer into the scene, engaging their interest and holding their attention.
