In this live workshop, now available to watch as a replay, watch Karl and the team work with a drop tank to capture numerous shots of a beverage can along with various pieces of fruit.
The plan? To composite these shots together in a follow-up live post-production workshop.
You’ll learn about best practices for drop-tank work, including preparation, props and, most importantly, lighting.
As Karl works, he answers several questions from members, further demystifying key aspects of the process.
The studio gets somewhat soaked – but it’s worth it!

For this live photography workshop, Karl is joined by top food photographer Anna Pustynnikova for an in-depth lesson in food photography and styling.
Anna shares her top secrets for food styling as well as demonstrates how, using just basic equipment, you can achieve amazing food photographs. Building on this, Karl then demonstrates a number of alternative lighting setups as they work, live, towards achieving a mouthwatering image of beef pastrami.

What Will You Learn in this Course?
In this course, I will show you my process from start to finish on how to plan and create a Fashion Story Editorial. This course is to help you in understanding how the entire process works from deciding on your theme or idea, how to find inspiration, simple planning by creating a mood board to keep your thoughts and ideas organized and then the shoot itself. Next you can see how I go through my images and my process on how I narrow them down, then taking them into photoshop to work on the post processing.
I talk about how to keep your edits consistent across the images even if the lighting changes as we are shooting outside with unpredictable lighting.

Last year in between lockdowns, I discovered Ana when browsing for new models on Instagram. She is so beautiful inside and out, and each time she comes to the studio the photos get better and better! Peter is going to continue to train her how to become an incredible fashion model, and while this is their 4th shoot together we want to share Ana’s journey with you all so you can watch her as she progresses so you can learn how to mould models into the type of model you are after.
As well as model training, these tutorials show you fashion styling, lighting, and posing. We hope you enjoy!

Peter, RaRa, and Shiori all teamed up again recently for another lingerie in the city shoot, and as you will see it was absolutely magic! Peter loves using full sun to create fashion images, and was really aiming for Helmut Newton style images. You will notice how quickly we move from spot to spot, and also how minimal Peter’s gear is – when doing this type of work we want to draw as little of attention as possible.
