• I’ve gotten a few messages that asked if CGI was going to take over product photography. I answered the same thing in all messages: I just don’t know. But I always advised afterward to get familiar with 3D at least, because you just never know when you’ll find absolutely necessary. 
• Anyway, those interactions inspired me to make this video, which is a walk through of how I lit this image in CGI. The goal was to show that the thinking behind lighting a bottle like this in CGI is almost completely the same as thinking through it in traditional studio photography.
