I saw great improvement in my own work as I went through the exercises, so my hope is that it’ll help you too. It can be hard not to get into a rut of drawing figures the same way each time. By studying other artist’s interpretation of the human form, you’ll find your own drawings freshen up and you have more ideas to draw from.
The idea is that you watch the videos with a sketchbook and pause it now and again to draw with me. We will draw from photos, and then get ideas from some fantastic artists who I will list below. Then when you return to drawing from photo reference you will find you’re full of new and fresh ways of interpreting it. Then for homework you’ll be drawing 3 different body shapes, drawing from 3 different reference photos, and try 3 different styles.
