In this dedicated to After Effects and Cinema 4D tutorial, we will explore the Cineware plugin that provides the link between the two programs. This plugin is part of CC and After Effects can import native Cinema 4D files.

We will detail a bit this plugin, and actually see how to use it. Here we will exercise on a still image, to focus on the interaction between the two programs. So I present to you the plugin, its main functions, then we'll go on C4D to see some of the basics for AE users who are not familiar.

Then we move on to a practical exercise of integrating a C4D model (text here) in a fixed film on AE. In order to increase the possibilities for changing the text will be broken down into several elements on which it will be possible to intervene completely independently (color, shadow, reflection etc ...)

Other tutorials will follow, where we will see how to work with movement in C4D and / or AE.

Although I use C4D in Studio version 14, I'm here as if they were the Lite version comes with AE, this tutorial is available with any version of C4D. In contrast, the plug being Cineware available AE CC, this only version is concerned AE. The source files are provided.
