The model we sampled for Evolution Sitardelic has a semi-hollow pine body with a masonite top, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and classic "lipstick" single-coil pickups. Embertone has announced Sh?n Bawu, a Kontakt instrument library featuring the sounds of world flutist William Arnold recorded playing the Bawu. The Bawu is a flute-shaped free reed instrument with a pure clarinet-like timbre that (most likely) originated in the Yunnan province of southwest China.

Roland’s neat little SH-2000 monosynth was in some ways a pretty limited machine, built around a single oscillator plus a moderately squelchy filter circuit. Editing was very basic indeed: a series of 30 colourful tabs along the front edge of the instrument brought the onboard presets into play, while a little panel to the left of the keyboard offered rudimentary control over things like filter modulation, wow, ‘growl’ and portamento. Fiddling with these in real time while noodling away on the keyboard could yield some surprisingly cool effects.
