Back in 2017 I visited the Estonian Print & Paper Museum in Tartu to see its great collection of type (well worth a visit!). While I was there I saw some big woodcut blocks of Reklameschrift Herold - a super Art Nouveau/Jugendstil style display font. The Print & Paper Museum's collection covers both Latin and Cyrillic faces and as a foreigner in these parts I'm kind of fascinated by the exoticism of Cyrillic. How it is different but the same to the Latin letters I take for granted (as a humble Englander – no excuses). Not to mention, Jugendstil with its imitation of natural form, reverse-weights and looping-delicious curves (like you've left the window open all summer and the garden plants are climbing in). This mix of Jugendstil, Cyrillic letters and the beautiful historical border town of Tartu inspired me to start drawing Waba.

TT Tunnels is a glyptal modular font family with narrow proportions and a large number of pronounced visual compensators. The starting point of the TT Trailers project was the idea to develop a new generation of narrow typefaces for use in movie credits and posters. Our portfolio already had a modular geometric sans TT Bluescreens, so the new project from the very beginning was in a humanist spirit. In addition, we conducted a small study and found that there are not many modern narrow humanist grotesques on the market. TT Trailers is based on the concept of preserving the amount of white: when changing from thin to bold, the width of characters increases significantly, which ultimately allows you to save an equal amount of white inside and between letters.

• TT Jenevers is a modern serif with Dutch flavor. The font family features the characteristic details peculiar to Dutch serifs—these are the asymmetrical shape of serifs and an irregular slant of ovals. For example, in the letter “o” there is no slant, but it is present in p-q. In TT Jenevers, both lowercase and uppercase characters are of a large size, which makes it a rather display typeface. At the same time, the big half-ellipse of the lowercase characters does not allow the letters to stick, which allows the implementation of TT Jenevers in text arrays. The italics of the TT Jenevers are slightly narrower as compared to upright faces—this is done to ensure a greater density of the text array.
