Guitarist Mike Naran not only knows pop-punk music, he's lived and breathed it, having played with Panic! At The Disco, The Ready Set, Sparks The Rescue, and a ton of other acts that would fit on the Vans Warped Tour circuit. Mike joined us at the Splice Sound Factory in LA to capture some of his signature guitar tones and style. This pack is a collection of guitar parts that would work well as song-starters for songwriters or one-shots and loops for anyone who wants to pull from the pop-punk style to manipulate or keep as-is.

Splice's Signal Path label is proud to present Ana Barreiro: Brazilian Percussion. LA-based drummer, composer, and music educator Ana Barreiro has deep roots in Brazilian music and Jazz. Originally from Poços de Caldas, a town located in the Southeast region of Brazil, she's learned from some of the most important music educators across Brazil and the US. Today, she teaches at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, Stanford Jazz Camp, and Jazz Camp West in California. She has harnessed all of that extensive knowledge and experience to craft Brazilian percussion loops and one-shots for Splice creators like you to pay homage to her culture and add some Brazilian flavor to your next production.

Egyptian Lover is back and Splice's Signal Path label is proud to present 808 Black. Egyptian Lover (born Greg Broussard) is a legend in the U.S. electro and hip hop scenes. Needless to say, we were excited when he spent a day at Sound Factory LA, bringing with him two hardware 808 units and a vocoder to lay down some samples and vocals. Egyptian Lover started out making mixtapes as a teenager, rhyming over tracks he recorded off the radio, before taking his mix of rhymes and electro beats to the LA streets as a member of Uncle Jamm's Army. Synonymous with the Roland TR-808, Broussard made history with his singles Egypt Egypt (1984) and Freak-A-Holic (1986). His signature pioneering move at one of his first DJ gigs was rewinding one of the records while another was still playing—history was made at that party. Now you can use his bumping 808s, distinctive vocals, and a variety of loops in your next project.

The team at Splice's Sound Factory had the honor of recording a vocal pack with Barbadian-born artist Ayoni, a true star on the rise. Based in Los Angeles, the singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist is redefining what pop music can be. Having lived in America, Indonesia, and Singapore, she draws her inspiration from a rich musical soundscape informed by these beautiful cultures.

Characterized by a fusion of deep house, jazz, Kwaito, and Afrobeat elements, “Amapiano” loosely translates to “the pianos” in Zulu. The continuous piano melodies, deep bass, a touch of jazz, and Zulu rhythms set the Amapiano sound apart from other African Pop genres. For this Signal Path release, producer and DJ Blaq Pages acted as Executive Producer, gathering several collaborators at Sound Factory LA to lay down some Amapiano foundations while adding their own zest. You'll find synths and keys, wide percussive basslines, high-pitched piano melodies, low tempo 1990s South African house rhythms, and more. Musicians featured on this pack include SOKO7, Joshua Denńa, Gianluca Gibbons, and Kayomusiq.

For the Felt Piano pack, Zahn went to town at Sound Factory LA, using our outboard gear to help sculpt moody, spacey, ethereal samples that are primed to be used on cinematic scores, low-key and lush indie pop songs, or whatever your imagination drums up.

Splice's Signal Path label is proud to present Melanie Charles: Trill Flute and Vocals Vol 1. The Brooklyn-born and raised musician Melanie Charles has made a name for herself through dynamic engagements with jazz, soul, and R&B. Her bold genre-bending style has been embraced by a range of artists including Wynton Marsalis, SZA, Mach-Hommy, Gorillaz, and The Roots. “Make Jazz Trill Again,” a project that she launched in 2016, demonstrates her allegiance to everyday people, especially the youth, and is focused on taking jazz from the museum to the streets. For this pack, she joined the Signal Path crew at Sound Factory LA to lay down flute, vocals, and electric piano samples for you to use in your productions. Use these one-shots and loops in your next project to help bring jazz to the streets.
