Serial is a practical, straightforward grotesque with narrow character width and rigid geometric drawing. You can spot influences from modern geometrical typefaces: characters with diagonal lines include ink traps; diacritics and punctuation use oval, cubic dots. These features might look utilitarian. Here, they are an aesthetic choice as well as a practical one. Headlines or logotypes can benefit from available alternative characters. However, Serial distinguishes between a severe typeface and a more versatile one with or without them. Serial is available in eight styles (Hair, Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Semibold, Bold, Black). Stylistic sets have alternatives for a, g, l, r and R. Character sets include decorative elements and arrows.
